new york saturday

AIPAD was a joke. it was a ridiculous flea market of traditional mostly overrated work and bad money jokes. but i did like seeing czech prints, a sally man and raghibir singh print. it freaks me out to see harry callahans work because his printing is just so beautiful. such a full range of tones. it's was also cool to see that koudelka was not a great printer. i wonder if that is the compromise when one is so much more about a particular decisive moment.

also, going to an event that feels so rigid and structured, and seeing what established galleries value due to tradition or name sake really makes me want to run away from photography. especially after seeing cool places like machine project. there's just way too much awesome shit to think about.
